| VENICE
3 hours tour
This
romantic city is situated four kilometres from the mainland, on 115 islands
of the Venetian Lagoon - criss-crossed by more than 150 canals and 400
bridges. Its look is a mix of Eastern and Western Europe
Art,
due to the peculiar geographical position and the economical rule that
the ancient Republic of "La Serenissima" has always had in history.
Its churces look like mosques.
The
Venice carnival is by far that city's most festive annual event. Colours
and masks rule the city for a week and you will be astonished by the traditions
which interest this festival.
Venice
hosts some of Italy's finest museums: you can enjoy seeing paintings of
Italian Renaissance and baroque amongst the most famous in the world.
The
city develops on islands and it is sometimes flooded by canals, but venetians
face this problem in a very easy way, because they have been used to this
for centuries and buildings cannot be damaged by this, because their roots
are in water.
A
tour on the "gondola" will allow you to have view of the city
from a privileged point of view: the channels. Venice is among the most
romantic cities in Europe and in the world. Just stand in Piazza San Marco,
invaded by pigeons or walk along its narrowest alleys, which end on water,
or visit its famous bridges, as the famous Ponte dei Sospiri. |
